stem with mask finial, the triangular bases with corner
masks, on later iron scroll supports, lft. 5lhin. (44cm.)

A SMALL STRONG BOX, steel overlaid with riveted
iron strapwork, five-tongue interior spring lock, the guard
pierced and inlaid with seahorses, with iron hasps and
loop handles, lft. 2in. high by 2ft. 5in. (37cm. by 74cm.)

A WALNUT TABLE CABINET, with eight drawers,
17in. high by Win. wide (44cm. by 40cm.) late 17th Century
door now inset with a panel of early 17th Century
Augsburg marquetry.
A PAIR OF GILTWOOD APPLIQUES, with richly carved
scrolling leaves joined by a bunch of fiowers, 4ft. 7in.
wide (140cm.), and two Appliques carved as shells,
lft. lin. high (33cm.).
AN IRON-BOUND STRONG BOX, over-laid with strap-
work and with strap handles, sides with carrying handles,
retaining traces of the original decoration, lft. 41hin. high
by 2ft. 63Ain. wide (42cm. by 78cm.); 17th Century, possibly
Nuremberg.
A SMALL IRON STRONG BOX, overlaid with riveted
strapwork, ll’hin. high by lft. lOin. wide (30cm. by 56cm.)
late 17th Century, interior lock removed.
A FLEMISH OYSTER-VENEERED OLIVEWOOD AND WALNUT BOX,
the top inlaid with a geometrie design, lOVzin. wide (27cm.)
late 17th Century, back re-veneered.
A PAIR OF SPANISH ELMWOOD ARMCHAIRS,
with leather-covered backs and seats, flat scrolled arms,
shaped front legs with carved front str et chers.
A FLEMISH OAK SMALL ARMOIRE, with ebony panels,
moulded comice and doors each with two fielded panels,
fluted pilasters with applied strapwork with pierced scroll-backed brackets and massive bun feet, 5ft. high by 5ft.
wide (179cm. by 174cm.) circa 1650.
AN ITALIAN ROSEWOOD CABINET ON STAND, the
rectangular moulded top inlaid with ivory Unes, the
similarly decorated doors enclosing a fitted interior of
drawers surrounding a central arched cupboard, with
removable section and secret drawers within, above a
single drawer, the later ebonised stand with turned legs
joined by a flat cross-over stretcher, 3ft. lO’hin. by 2ft.
llhin. wide (117cm. by 62cm.) cabinet circa 1700, lower
portion of cabinet reduced in depth.
A SET OF FOUR REGENCE GILT-BRONZE SABOTS, each
in the form of a pair of moulded scrolls supporting
a feathery plume faced with overlapping trefoils, early
18th Century.
A WALNUT COMMODE, the inverted serpentine
front with three long drawers on bracket feet, 2ft. 63Uin.
high by 2ft.(78cm. by 90cm.) circa 1740,
probably German.
NETHERLANDS OAK AND EBONY CUPBOARD, with
moulded cavetto, the frieze with moulded panels
above fielded panelled doors set with ebony and flanked
by pilaster strips, the lower part with similarly panelled
doors on moulded base and stile feet, with panelled sides,
5ft. 9′/2in. high by 5ft. 2in. wide (177cm. by 159cm.) midl7th
Century.
A PAIR OF WALNUT SIDE CHAIRS in the manner of
Daniel Marot, the tall backs with pierced shell-carved
crestings, the splats flanked by turned columns and
finials, the stuffed seats on scroll front-supports and
turned stretchers, late 17th Century.
A GOOD SPANISH WALNUT TABLE, the rectangular
top raised on crisply turned legs and stretchers, 18th
Century, feet restored.
A PORTUGUESE ROSEWOOD TABLE, the top with
moulded edge and the pair of frieze drawers with a
fluted zig-zag design above a scroll-carved frieze on
spiral-twist legs and stretchers, 2ft. 7in. high by 3ft. wide
(79cm. by 92cm.) partly 18th Century.
A FLEMISH WALNUT CABINET ON STAND,
the giltwood cresting carved with cherubs and a classical
figure and flowers, birds and scrolling foliage, the moulded rectangular top with an ormolu bead and leaf border, the cabinet with a central
cupboard inset with a portrait of Charles I and enclosing
four drawers, surrounded by twelve drawers each with a portrait miniature within a brass frame, the whole of the
front covered in gilt-brass scrollwork; the giltwood stand
carved with scrolls and flowers and centred by a pair of birds, the apron carved with trophies of war and a satyr
mask, on leafy cabriole legs and claw-and-ball feet joined
by a waved stretcher in the form of two sea monsters, 6ft. Win. high overall by 3ft. 8in. wide (208cm. by 112cm.)
circa 1670, gilt-brass mounts and stand later.
A DUTCH OAK TABLE, the panelled frieze with a
drawer, on bulbous cup-and-cover baluster iegs joined by
stretchers, 2ft. 7in. high by 4ft. 9in. wide (79cm. by
145cm.) mid 17th Century.
A LOMBARD BONE-INLAID WALNUT CHEST OF DRAWERS,
the top elaborately inlaid with two grotesque cartouches
within foliate and bird sprandrels and with a conforming border above three long drawers similarly panelled, on a
moulded projecting plinth base, 2ft. IVhin. high by 4ft.
9lhin. wide (90cm. by 146cm.) circa 1710.
A TUSCAN WALNUT CUPBOARD,
with moulded projecting top above a dentil
moulding, panelled doors flanked by pilasters with
panelled sides and paw feet, 3ft. Hin. high by 4ft. Gin. zoide (119cm. by 137cm.) partly early 17th Century,
extensively remodelled.
